This group has the greatest need and room for improvement on all fronts. The mental toughness part should be one of the priorities if a player is serious with his/her tennis.
MOTIVATION, CONCENTRATION, SELF-CONFIDENCE, ATTITUDE, FIGHTING SPIRIT, EMOTIONAL CONTROL, AWARENESS are all “needful things” if top sport is the goal. (also later in life). Remember, the margin between winning and losing is tiny!
Does your game fit the person you are?
Do you know your qualities and shortcommings?
Do you know the same about your opponent? If not, how fast can you realize what’s happening on court?
Do you have a backup plan (“B” plan)?
What are our triggers?
What are our responses?
How do we behave?
How do we relax?
How specific are we in thinking?
Do we emphasize our strength or weakness?
How is all this under pressure?
